Sr. Cost Accountant

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our client's team in Eastaboga, Alabama. This Contract to permanent position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in cost accounting and manufacturing processes. The role requires expertise in analyzing financial data, managing cost systems, and improving operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement system-based standard cost accounting processes tailored to a manufacturing environment.

• Monitor and analyze transactional data, including backflushing, to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Establish and maintain cost centers, including labor standard costs, to facilitate accurate expense tracking.

• Capture and evaluate monthly variances to identify trends and areas for improvement.

• Utilize ERP such as Insight and NetSuite to streamline accounting operations and reporting.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial controls and operational efficiency.

• Prepare detailed cost analysis reports to support decision-making and budgeting.

• Ensure the accuracy of financial information related to production and inventory.

• Provide recommendations for optimizing cost structures and profitability.• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Extensive experience in cost accounting within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Proficiency in Excel and system-based cost accounting tools.

• Demonstrated ability to establish cost centers and manage labor standard costs.

• Strong analytical skills with a focus on capturing monthly financial variances.

• Familiarity with Insight and NetSuite platforms is highly desirable.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
