Join the Alteas Health team as an in-office Revenue Cycle Specialist, reporting to the VP of Financial Operations. Dive into the exciting world of medical billing, where you'll oversee day-to-day billing operations for assigned clients. From electronic and paper claims to troubleshooting billing errors, you'll be the go-to expert. Assist in payor credentialing, privileging processes, and more. We need someone who thrives on prioritizing, organizing, and communicating effectively across all levels of the practice.
What are the must haves (aka minimum requirements)
High School Diploma or equivalent
1 year of experience as a Billing Specialist
Microsoft Office Proficiency
CPC, CCA, CCS, CCS-P or CPC-H certification is a plus
Tell me about the job duties (aka key responsibilities but not all encompassing)
Prepare and submit clean claims to various insurance companies either electronically or by paper
Troubleshoot and resolve/escalate billing errors
Research, resolve and report identified unbilled claims
Updating information and providing the necessary documentation to ensure payment on insurance claims
Review patient accounts for accuracy and insurance verification
Manage the status of accounts and balances to identify inconsistencies
Correct any claim rejections and denials, resubmit corrected claims
Work on the aging report as specified by Practice guidelines
Additional billing duties, as assigned
You must be willing to travel to the Highland Park, IL office
