About the Role
We are seeking a Power Systems Forecaster I to join a dynamic renewable energy forecasting team. The role focuses on predicting and monitoring solar and other renewable energy resources to support real-time and day-ahead energy operations.
What You’ll Do
Forecast and monitor renewable energy resources in the power grid
Analyze weather and operational data to improve forecasting accuracy
Maintain and enhance databases with weather, generator, and outage data
Build and validate predictive models using statistical and algorithmic methods
Collaborate with internal teams to communicate forecasts and support operations
Work with cross-functional teams to onboard new renewable resources into the forecast system
Be available to work weekends or non-standard hours as needed
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have:
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Atmospheric Science or Meteorology
Experience with weather, load, or renewable resource forecasting
Skills in Python, R, SQL, or similar programming languages
Familiarity with Power BI and Microsoft Office tools
Strong statistical, analytical, and pattern recognition abilities
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
