Systems Engineer- Space Force

Scottsdale, AZ

Contract Position

Pay Estimated: $92.44-$97.44/Hour

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors, (geographical location, etc.)

Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.

Responsibilities:

Support the development, integration, and evaluation of secure networked information systems for advanced defense applications.

Perform full lifecycle systems engineering: requirements analysis and definition, functional and performance analysis, system design, interface definition, integration, verification, and validation.

Conduct technical planning, risk analysis, trade studies, and effectiveness evaluations for system and subsystem components.

Analyze and develop system architectures and solutions to meet stringent government security specifications.

Contribute to systems accreditation and certification documentation and testing.

Perform modeling and simulation efforts as part of system validation and performance forecasting.

Evaluate vendor products, COTS, and specifications to assess design feasibility and applicability.

Lead or contribute to the generation of engineering documentation and technical deliverables using standardized systems development processes.

Design complex systems and frameworks, identifying and resolving system design challenges.

Collaborate regularly with internal engineering teams, Deputy Program Managers for Engineering (DPME), and external stakeholders.

Engage with customers and interface with external WAN providers to coordinate detailed system-level networking designs.

Define platform and interface specifications for compatibility between hardware and software components.

Lead or contribute to major programs and projects, helping guide technical direction and execution strategy.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related STEM field required; a Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.

8+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's, or 6+ years with a master's degree.

U.S. Citizenship required by Federal Law.

Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance required.

Experience coordinating external interfaces and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).

Knowledge of multi-level security domains and cross-domain solutions.

Expertise in decomposing system requirements using lightweight, Agile approaches.

Experience collaborating with partners from Iridium, SDA, Northrop Grumman, York, or Lockheed Martin is a plus.

Proficiency in system-level networking and interfacing with Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) WAN providers.

Agile program experience, including systems engineering practices in iterative environments.

Ability to scope and manage complex system boundaries and stakeholder interactions.
