**Job Title: Yard/Gate Operator**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated Yard/Gate Operator to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role involves leasing out chassis and coordinating their return by trucking companies. The operator will assist in checking trailers, ensuring proper coordination, and identifying damaged units for specific yard locations. Utilizing a straightforward app on an iPad, the operator will upload photos and SKUs, facilitating smooth operations. The job requires excellent communication skills, as you will frequently interact with yard personnel and outside vendors. The position is primarily outdoors, with trailers going inside bays for repairs. There is potential for growth, although not guaranteed.
**Responsibilities**
+ Assist in checking in trailers and coordinating their placement in the yard.
+ Identify and direct damaged trailers to designated yard locations.
+ Utilize an app on an iPad to upload photos and SKUs, automating processes.
+ Communicate effectively with yard personnel and outside vendors.
+ Operate a large sit-down forklift, handling in-gate and out-gate moves.
+ Conduct FMCSA and BIT safety inspections with training provided.
+ Drive heavy lift and yard tractor as required for repair shop support.
+ Perform ingate inspections to identify any damages or required repairs.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is primarily outdoors, involving a small shop with large forklifts. Employees work rain or shine, with access to a comfortable break room, locker rooms, and computer facilities. The location has moved to Tukwila, having previously been near Seattle terminals. The job involves peak seasons influenced by logistics and cargo flow, typically beginning in the upcoming summer. Monthly safety meetings ensure every employee has a voice and contributes to a safe working environment. Basic tools like sockets, wrenches, and impact guns are necessary.

This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, Washington.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
