Come join a collaborative team and make an impact! Adecco Permanent Recruitment is hiring for a Technical Writer for our client in Hanover MD.

Responsibilities:

Develop and revise structured technical content using topic-based authoring techniques.

Collaborate with project managers and fellow technical writers to meet documentation deadlines.

Research products and technologies, consult with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and translate complex electromechanical concepts into user-friendly documentation.

Create documentation for both in-development and operational equipment, which includes working on-site, climbing stairs, standing on platforms, and observing/photographing equipment during build and operation stages.

Review content created by peers and provide constructive feedback to maintain quality

Analyze and repurpose technical resources such as schematics and engineering drawings.

Capture and edit visuals (photos, diagrams, illustrations) to enhance written documentation.

Ensure alignment with established content standards, templates, and branding guidelines.

Occasionally travel to customer or company locations to document equipment installations, maintenance procedures, and repair processes.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

At least 3 years of experience in technical writing, editing, and proofreading.

Familiarity with DITA XML or other structured authoring formats.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Highly adaptable and self-directed, with the ability to build strong collaborative relationships and give/receive feedback in a constructive way.

Comfortable understanding and explaining electro-mechanical systems.

Willing and able to work on-site in Hanover, MD location at least 2 days per week.

Open to some travel (less than 10%) across the U.S., including overnight stays, and local visits

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or related discipline.

Knowledge of information architecture and best practices for content reuse.

Hands-on experience with Component Content Management Systems (CCMS).

Proficiency in image editing and illustration tools.

Background or experience in the warehouse automation or material handling industry.
