About Launchpad
At Launchpad, we specialize in AI-powered automation that transforms product assembly in America. We build self-programming robots (Digitools) that optimize manufacturing systems, improving efficiency and solving critical labor shortages.
We’re looking for a proactive and hands-on Infrastructure, Security, and DevOps Engineer to build and maintain the secure, scalable infrastructure powering our robotics and automation systems. This role blends Linux system administration, cybersecurity, DevOps tooling, and close collaboration with product development teams. You'll be instrumental in establishing CI/CD pipelines, data pipelines, and real-time infrastructure that interfaces directly with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) systems used in the testing and validation of mission-critical machines.
You’ll manage sensitive IT infrastructure subject to ISO 9001 standards and U.S. export controls. Due to export compliance requirements, this role requires U.S. citizenship or equivalent eligibility under ITAR/EAR regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Administration & Security (40%)
Manage and harden Linux-based systems across cloud (AWS, Azure) and on-prem environments.
Oversee access control, network segmentation, encryption, and secure remote access.
Implement backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and secure audit-grade logging infrastructure.
Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 standards and support future audit-readiness.
Monitor for security threats and ensure patching, endpoint protection, and incident readiness.DevOps, CI/CD, and Developer Infrastructure (40%)
Architect and maintain CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) for embedded, firmware, and software builds.
Collaborate with engineering teams to support HIL/SIL environments and test automation workflows.
Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code and deployment pipelines using Ansible, Bash, Python, or Terraform.
Create and manage observability tooling: logging pipelines, metrics dashboards, alerting systems.
Support containerized development environments (Docker; Kubernetes a plus).Internal IT & Support (20%)
Provision and support team devices (Linux/macOS/Windows) and manage secure onboarding/offboarding.
Maintain office networking, printers, and secure local infrastructure.
Provide responsive support while creating documentation and automating routine tasks.
Ensure adherence to IT policies and access rules to safeguard sensitive IP and systemsQualifications
Required:
3+ years managing Linux systems in a cybersecurity-conscious environment.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Github Actions, Jenkins) and HIL/SIL or similar validation systems.
Strong understanding of access control, data retention, network security, and encryption protocols.
Familiarity with regulated environments (ISO 9001, ITAR) and secure system design.
Scripting and automation using Bash, Python, and/or config tools like Ansible or Terraform.
Experience with container workflows (Docker) and system monitoring/logging tools (Grafana, Tableau, etc.).
Ability to work cross-functionally with hardware, software, and product teams to enable secure, reliable infrastructure.
Provide CI/CD support and infrastructure coordination for our UK-based software team, including morning-hour overlap when needed.
Preferred:
Familiarity with ITAR-controlled environments or export-restricted systems.
Experience preparing for audits (ISO, SOC 2, etc.).
Knowledge of HIL/SIL test frameworks or robotics/embedded testing.
Experience with Kubernetes, Podman, or serverless infrastructure.
Certifications: CompTIA Security+, AWS SysOps, RHCSA, Six Sigma Black Belt, or similar. What We Offer
