Electrical Engineer – LV Switchgear Design
Location: Henrico, VA
Experience: 6–8 years
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop Low Voltage (LV) switchgear, including MCC, PCC panels, Databar/Busways, and Tap-off boxes.
Create electrical control panel designs and wire harnesses using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and Autodesk Vault.
Perform engineering calculations for busbars, cables, and load capacities.
Interpret and apply ANSI codes for electrical control and protection systems.
Generate general arrangement (GA) drawings and control schematics to support production.
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate design-to-production execution.
Ensure integration of metering, relays, and protective devices in panel layouts.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
6–8 years of industry experience in LV switchgear design and manufacturing.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and Autodesk Vault.
Solid understanding of electrical standards, including ANSI codes (preferred).
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
