Position Summary
In this role, you will be the E2E System Integration leader responsible for our end-to-end PNT Solution development and deployment towards a POC. This role would involve executing the development of prototype 5G infrastructure and UEs through a combination of third party and internal resources, which will include incorporation of our product features required for 5G PNT using PRS. One other key aspect would be hands-on involvement in successful execution of system integration of the 5G network architecture, 5G network components and 5G UE components in the lab and field. In this role you will utilize in-depth knowledge of the 5G system operation to identify and resolve integration issues to deliver a successful prototype. Further, you will have a significant role in developing specifications for commercial infrastructure and devices to support the 5G system including PNT beyond the POC.
Responsibilities
Responsible for lab and field integration and performance validation of the 5G solution
Responsible for acceptance of deliverables from POC BTS/UE vendors per specification
Ongoing technical interactions with the infrastructure/UE vendor, reviewing/validating test plans/reports, receiving/accepting deliverables, jointly finding resolution to problems from the infrastructure engagement in alignment with the specifications.
Working with internal technical teams to identify validation plans/resolve issues related to PNT Solution goals, identifying and resolving issues, and, where necessary, owning/spearheading technical problem resolution
Work closely with the network design/operations team to identify site requirements and facilitate the POC in alignment with the company objectives
Build credible and trusted relationships within the company, with key partners, and with other stakeholders within the 5G ecosystem to ensure understanding, adoption and application of our solution
Desired Skills and Experience
Must Have:
10+ years’ experience working in the domain of End-to-End wireless/cellular systems integration including infrastructure and UE to deliver working solutions
In-depth understanding of 4G/5G cellular systems including experience with successful e2e verification of technology in lab as well as in the field against specifications.
Hands-on RAN integration skills of various 5G network components including UE, RAN and core
Good understanding of 5G-RAN PHY and MAC protocols (UE-RAN interface and RAN-core interface), functional and performance specifications
Experience in troubleshooting and debugging e2e 4G/5G systems
Experience in working with a combination of internal teams and external vendors in delivery 4G/5G technology capabilities
Proven track record of ownership, attention to detail/quality, pride of ownership and accountability
Ability to function in a fast-paced, diverse, startup environment in a global organization
Nice-to-have:
Experience with development/verification test equipment such as 4G/5G BTS/UE emulators, VSAs
Understanding of positioning signals preferred and cellular synchronization architectures/protocols/specifications\
Experience with 5G network deployments and related problem resolution
Work Environment
The work location is in the office in Santa Clara with final integration done in the labs located there.
Must work/communicate during typical work hours in North America, Europe and India time zones
Some travel for in-person customer/partner technical meetings will be required (both domestic and international)
