Role Summary

As our first technical hire, you'll turn Casey, our HIPAA compliant, multilingual AI Case Manager from a proven prototype into a production platform that can support millions of rural patients every day. You'll own everything from the model pipeline to the data stack, ship features at startup speed, and lay the cultural foundation for a world class engineering team.

How This Role Fits Into healcovery ai

healcovery ai's mission is to expand access to behavioral healthcare in rural communities. The Founding Member of Technical Staff partners directly with the CEO on product strategy, converts clinical insights into product capabilities, and, most importantly, builds the technical runway that lets us scale revenue without linear head count growth. You'll be both an architect and a hands on builder, then quickly transition into a player coach who mentors incoming engineers.

Qualifications

Software engineering experience (school, personal projects, internship, or professional)

Some experience in Python or other programming languages.

Some experience with AI models (OpenAI, Claude, Mistral, open source models).

Some experience using a cloud platform.

Security & compliance mindset.

Bias for action: quick learner who thrives on ambiguity, experiments often, and iterates fast.

Excellent verbal & written communication; able to explain complex concepts in plain language to clinicians, investors, and rural community partners.

Bonus Points

Familiarity with healthcare (either as a patient or via family members).
