The Role:

As the Lead Firmware QA Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing an end-to-end automation testing system for the company's electric power meters and cloud platform. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise to lead architecture discussions and guide the test team towards comprehensive test coverage for new and existing products.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop an end-to-end automation testing system for the company’s electric power meters and cloud platform.

Lead architecture discussions with the firmware and QA teams to establish and refine the automation testing system.

Lead the test team to ensure robust test coverage across a wide range of functional areas.

Collaborate closely with firmware engineers to integrate and coordinate unit tests with regression tests, optimizing overall test capabilities.

Create and manage roadmaps and plans to ensure test coverage for new features and products, as well as to improve existing test coverages.

Triage field failures and report relevant data and metrics.

Ideal Candidate:

Holds a BS or MS degree in a related field.

Possesses 10 years of experience in firmware and software testing.

Demonstrates proficiency with software testing methodologies.

Has strong knowledge of Linux-based embedded systems and scripting languages such as TCL, Python, or shell.

Understands test automation frameworks and components (e.g., Jenkins, Docker).

Experience in triaging field failures and effectively reporting data and metrics.

Pluses:

Basic knowledge of electronics.

Basic understanding of electric three-phase and single-phase power systems.

Experience in network test methodologies, particularly L5 to L7 Network Layer testing.

Familiarity with memory management, security, and safety-critical software/firmware.
