VES LLC is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead high-priority defense modernization efforts with a special emphasis on operations in the Picatinny Arsenal and Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) communities. This role requires deep expertise in project execution, financial management, business development, and contract oversight in support of mission-critical Command and Control (C2) programs.

The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical leadership and operational insight, enabling them to shape strategy, drive execution, and deliver lasting impact across the Department of Defense's innovation and modernization ecosystem. While this can be a remote role, the ideal candidate will be located in the Picatinny, NJ area or APG, MD area.

General Job Duties:

Lead the full lifecycle of acquisition and software development programs-from systems engineering and requirements definition through delivery, fielding, and sustainment.

Direct and mentor interdisciplinary technical teams including engineers, developers, and systems integrators (government and contractor).

Plan, execute, and manage program finances, including P&L, resource allocation, staff planning, and performance evaluation.

Develop and execute acquisition strategies using FAR-based contracts and OTA vehicles, aligning with both traditional and rapid procurement frameworks.

Oversee DevSecOps pipelines and Agile MVP delivery through sprint/iteration planning and technical exchange meetings (TEMs).

Collaborate with AI/ML teams and mission command developers to fuse sensor data, autonomous decision aids, and command-and-control interfaces within HMIF contexts.

Drive technical roadmaps and system architectures that align HMIF capabilities with larger Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) and Common Operating Environment (COE) objectives.

Lead integration of intelligent systems and human-machine teaming technologies into tactical software platforms to enhance warfighter decision-making and operational tempo.

Translate emerging warfighter needs into executable technical and acquisition strategies to expand the VES footprint in the Picatinny and Aberdeen defense ecosystems.

Drive growth through strategic outreach, white paper development, and targeted engagement with key defense customers.

Communicate regularly with senior military and civilian leadership, providing program status, risk insights, and strategic metrics.

Desired Requirements:

Minimum of 15 years of experience in program or project management, with at least 5 years supporting DoD acquisition programs.

Deep knowledge of the DoD acquisition process, including budget planning, contract management, and requirements development.

Experience leading Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and/or CMMI-compliant development teams.

Exceptional communication and leadership skills; able to engage and brief senior military and civilian leadership.

Experience growing organizational capabilities and developing high-performance teams.

Build and maintain strong customer relationships across PM Mission Command, PEO C3T, PEO IEW&S, JPEO A&A, and Army Futures Command.

Ability to author and present formal briefings and strategic plans to stakeholders.

Familiarity with CPCE, AFATDS, JTIC2S, FIRESTORM, CUAS, and NGC2 modernization efforts.

Background in contract writing, source selection support, and acquisition strategy development.

Proficient in managing diverse funding lines and indirect accounts and executing government financial processes.

Required Education and Experience:

MS in Computer Science or a related field, with 8+ years of relevant experience or BS/BA with 15+ years or relevant experience

Excellent oral and written communication skills with respect to all the above requirements.
