The Role

As a Senior Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in various team environments while independently managing all facets of system integration, including design, needs assessment, testing, implementation, and validation. This hands-on position focuses on supporting Lumen’s Government and commercial managed security services platforms, particularly for .gov and critical infrastructure protection missions.

Your responsibilities will blend technical expertise with project management skills as you work on-site at a Government location while providing dedicated support to the Government NOC from Monday to Friday, 0600 - 1200.

Main Responsibilities

Coordinate and provide technical assistance to the Customer NOC to ensure comprehensive situational awareness of all customer services within Lumen.

Act as the primary contact between Lumen and the Government point of contact regarding both planned and unplanned maintenance, promptly identifying affected transport circuits.

Participate in daily Government meetings, offering updates on maintenance activities and their impact on the Government Network.

Utilize your expertise to assist in ensuring accurate trouble ticket management within the NOC.

Build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to foster teamwork and enhance trust and transparency.

Analyze problems effectively to ascertain root causes and implement corrective actions.

Deliver precise written and verbal communication in all aspects of your role.

Maintain proactive status updates for assigned tasks, efficiently estimate effort for upcoming work, and execute responsibilities with minimal oversight.

Demonstrate strong communication and critical thinking abilities while collaborating in diverse environments.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

7+ years of relevant experience.

Strong communication skills are essential.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).

PMP Certification is a plus but not mandatory.

Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.

Security Requirements:

Must hold TS/SCI clearance.

Must meet eligibility requirements to access classified information; selected applicants will undergo a government security investigation.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary for this position ranges from $91,266.00 to $121,688.00 based on location, skills, experience, and other relevant factors. Lumen provides a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance your physical, mental, emotional, and financial well-being.
