Job Description
ALIGN Precision is looking for 2nd shift CMM Programmer. This person will be able to write CMM programs using Calypso software and prove them out on a Zeiss 5 Axis Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
Proficient in performing first piece, in-process, and final inspections
Ability to use a Coordinate Measuring Machine.
Ability to use a variety of manual inspection equipment.
This is a close tolerance environment (.0002”), so the successful candidate must be capable and comfortable working with these tolerances.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Write and assist in troubleshooting CMM programs using Calypso software.
Reviews job related information, such as job travelers, customer drawings, MOT/run-to sketches, CMM programs, CAD models, etc.
Collaborate with Engineers to establish inspection strategies and criteria.
Perform inspection(s) of products to determine conformance to all specifications and requirements.
Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines using both new and existing programs.
Qualify CMM probes using established calibration routines.
Evaluate inspection results to determine product conformity and segregate unacceptable product from acceptable product.
Utilize various manual measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, and bore gages.
Utilize vision-based equipment, such as Optical Comparators.
Accurately prepare, update, and complete inspection records and paperwork.
Ensure the proper filing of inspection results on the company server.
Effectively communicate inspection results and findings to the production floor.
Understand GD&T concepts, such as Maximum Material Condition (MMC), True Position, and Profile of a Surface.
Train others on inspection techniques when required.
Participate in process reviews, pFMEA exercises, and other process improvement activities when required.
Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S).
Provide good feedback and promote good communication with other team members.

Education, Experience, and Computer Skills
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Previous CMM programming experience using Zeiss Calypso software driven CMM’s.
Work experience with quality inspection instruments, processes, and procedures.
Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing is required.
Familiarity with AS9100 Aerospace First Article Inspection Requirements.
Proficient in Imperial & Metric system.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and apply common sense understanding.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
