Job Description

Direct Hire. Full Time. Perm. Las Colinas/Irving, Texas.

Privately held company. 20 plus years strong, stable and growing.

Commercial construction related technical services industry.

We’re looking for someone to join our team, as our current proposal manager is on the road to retirement. This job is so much more than just responding to RFQs and RFPs.

Writer and Editor. We definitely need someone who can write a proposal with support from our technical team. We need the technical speak and RFQs answered with a marketing light flair. So, someone who enjoys adding appropriate charts, graphs and graphics to the text would be appreciated.

At least two years of proposal writing experience preferred. However, technical writers and copywriters will also be considered. A high attention to detail and emphasis on clean copy are important.

Proposal Manager. Next, we would really benefit from someone who will run the proposal process in addition to writing and editing. A proposal project manager, so to speak. Manage resources, time budget as well as compilation. Our technical team is busy, and needs someone to make sure we get the missing elements delivered in time for you to massage and compile. A focus on quality, collaboration and communication is required.

Experience in proposal writing and managing is in order. A technical writer with some marketing experience might work as well.

Technical Field. Industry experience and/or familiarity with any of the following would be helpful: architecture, engineering, commercial construction, or technical fields like aviation, data centers or healthcare.

The industry experience is not necessary, but an interest and aptitude for technical or mechanical matters is very useful.

Smaller Company. If you enjoy longer deadlines and very complex proposals like defense contractors for the government, this is probably not your gig. Our proposals are much less involved and have much shorter deadlines, and our team resources are more limited. However, if you have a few years in that environment and want to get your hands on more of the parts and pieces and see the fruits of your labor come to life quicker, this may be for you.

Marketing. Some marketing experience is helpful, but not at the core of the position. Graphics and layout background are definitely useful, however. Support for trade shows and highlighting projects on the website are part of the role. But someone who wants a true marketing job will most likely not like this assignment.

Software Utilized. Adobe Creative suite including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, CRM (SalesForce), Microsoft Office, WordPress, HTML, google Analytics and SharePoint.

If you like a quiet, ethical, low drama and low politics workplace, let us hear from you.

We offer full time employees health, disability and life insurance, paid time off and 401(k), and much more including some tuition reimbursement.

This is an in-office position given complexities of the industry, deadlines and team interaction.

For those whose resumes catch our attention, you’ll be contacted by a real human via phone.

The usual HR stuff is required: background, drug and reference checks. No sponsorship available for this position.

Good luck with your search!
