Warehouse Forklift Operator

Job Description

Warehouse Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating a forklift to move materials and products within a warehouse. The operator ensures that inventory is accurately stored, retrieved, and transported to meet the needs of the business, all while maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Forklift Operation:

Safely operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, pallet jack) to transport goods within the warehouse.

Load and unload materials from trucks, shelves, and other storage locations.

Stack and organize products in a manner that maximizes space and ensures easy retrieval.

Inventory Management:

Assist in inventory control by properly storing materials and products.

Track stock levels and report any discrepancies or damaged goods to the warehouse supervisor.

Ensure proper labeling and storage of inventory.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all safety regulations, including wearing proper protective equipment.

Conduct regular maintenance checks on forklifts and report any malfunctions or safety hazards.

Follow all warehouse safety protocols to minimize the risk of accidents.

Product Handling:

Ensure products are handled with care to avoid damage during transportation.

Safely maneuver forklifts through narrow aisles and crowded storage areas.

Use forklifts to move materials to staging areas, assembly lines, or shipping docks.

Collaboration:

Work closely with warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow.

Communicate with supervisors and other team members regarding inventory status, shipments, and any issues encountered.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of materials moved or transferred within the warehouse.

Complete necessary paperwork for shipments, receipts, and inventory adjustments.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid forklift certification or experience operating a forklift.

Previous experience in a warehouse environment preferred.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
