Compensation: $16 hourly + tips
About Us:
Haute Feast at Barnegat Oyster Collective is a waterfront, chef-driven, farm-to-table seafood restaurant located at the headquarters of a working oyster farm. We are proud to operate in collaboration with a collective of independent oyster farmers and local fishers, sourcing directly from the water to your plate. Our menus rotate weekly, driven by what’s fresh, sustainable, and local—celebrating the bounty of Barnegat Bay. Our team is passionate, professional, and hospitality-obsessed.
We’re hiring Service Captains to join our opening team. As a Service Captain, you are the guest’s main point of contact from the moment they're seated through the end of their experience. You’ll work with a dedicated team of runners, bussers, and shuckers to deliver high-touch, informed, celebratory service—anchored in storytelling, local sourcing, and great energy.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary service lead for your section of guests during each shift
Guide guests through our rotating, locally sourced seafood menu
Drive sales by confidently recommending oyster selections, wine pairings, and featured dishes to enhance sales and guest enjoyment
Share the story behind our collective oyster farming practices and direct-from-source ingredients
Help pace the dining room and support your teammates by jumping in where needed
Coordinate with kitchen, oyster bar, and support staff to ensure smooth pacing and delivery
Maintain high standards of attentiveness, hospitality, and table upkeep
Handle guest questions, feedback, or special needs with professionalism and warmth
What We’re Looking For:
2+ years of restaurant experience (upscale preferred)
Strong communication and people skills; confident speaking with guests
Passion for local food, sustainability, and the art of the upsell
Commitment to learning and speaking intelligently about our locally-driven culture
Calm, professional presence and a sharp eye for detail
Available evenings, weekends, and holidays
