Job Description

The Shore and Country Club is seeking a professional, service-driven Lead Server to join our Food & Beverage team. This is a full-time position, that requires flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

In this hands-on leadership role, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service while guiding and supporting the waitstaff during private events, club functions, and/or dining services. The Lead Server sets the tone for service standards by leading by example, ensuring every guest enjoys a polished, memorable dining experience. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, banquet service experience, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but are not limited to:

Lead and support waitstaff during private events and dining services, ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality service.

Provide professional, attentive, and courteous food and beverage service to members and guests throughout events.

Greet guests, take orders, serve plated meals, clear courses, and handle beverage service.

Assist with event setups and breakdowns to match event order specifications, including table settings, buffets, and beverage stations.

Maintain open, clear communication with kitchen staff and management to ensure service runs smoothly.

Proactively address guest requests, resolve service issues promptly, and anticipate needs to enhance guest experiences.

Assist with training and coaching servers, promoting consistency in service standards.

Ensure banquet areas remain clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout the event.

Maintain a polished, professional appearance and positive, team-oriented attitude at all times.

Support other club dining operations as needed.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Banquet or fine dining service experience required.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous leadership experience preferred.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Positive attitude and professional appearance.

Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays during the Club’s operating season.

Ability to work under pressure.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the ability to perform essential job functions with physical demands, including standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, talking, hearing, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
