Job Description
The Medical Provider is a licensed independent practitioner who is responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for the patient in accordance with State and Federal rules, regulations and standards of care.
Typical Working Conditions
Normal office and clinic environment. May require evening and/or weekend work. Working under stress. Travel required.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage medical needs of the patient in the primary care setting to include preventive screenings and medical treatment services according to the clinical guidelines of the clinic.
• Orders diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient's age-specific needs.
• Provide patients with education on health care status and diagnostic and treatment recommendations as part of the primary health care team.
• Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
• Participate in quarterly QI/QA meetings under the leadership of Chief Medical Officer.
• Participate in outreach and educational services provided by the clinic.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals to other programs provided by the clinic to address patient needs (i.e. behavioral health therapy, social services, etc.).
• Refer and co-manage complex medical cases.
• Ensure that all patients of the clinic are treated with respect, and provided quality, cost effective care.
• Reviews and interprets lab results and therapeutic tests and follows internal procedures for patient follow up.
• Follows internal policies and procedures.
• Complies with OSHA regulations and HIPPA.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education
Master’s degree in nursing, such as APRN and or higher.
Experience
Minimum five years as an APRN, MD or DO for the service delivery of primary healthcare; medical office management experience.
Certificate/License
Certified license to practice medicine. Company Description
