Excellent opportunity for an experienced Payroll Technician. The position is responsible for assisting the
HR Data and Payroll Services division with the timely and accurate payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities:
· Process payroll for assigned departments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
· Audit timesheets and payroll records to verify proper application of time and attendance rules, overtime, and other compensation
· Assist with executing and developing department's internal payroll processes
· Serve as a resource to solve payroll-related requests, problems, and questions
Required Qualifications:
· Associate's degree in public administration, HR management, or related field
· Minimum 2 years of experience in a payroll function
· Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
· Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities
· Demonstrated adaptability and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
· Familiarity with federal and state payroll/wage laws
· Business/fiscal management acumen and HR competencies
· Knowledge of collective bargaining requirements related to payroll
· Understanding of state government organization and agency functions
Scheduled hours are 8am to 4pm Monday-Friday.
Candidate must be able to pass a background check.
