Job Description

QC Technicians

Responsibilities include but are not limited to.

Co-operate with government agencies during inspections to meet and maintain high production standards.

Direct interaction with USDA Inspectors relating to food safety issues. When applicable, Tech must proceed with an immediate resolution to any deficiencies pointed out by the Inspector.

Accurately completing all documentation for auditing

Pre-operational- thorough inspection of the facility and equipment before the startup of production, working closely with sanitation to correct deficiencies found.

Conduct and document inspections and monitoring activities per the Quality Control Manual and Food Safety Quality Manual

Ensure quality testing is carried out throughout the day; inspections of product to meet company set standards.

Constantly monitoring every stage of the product process to immediately address and resolve deficiencies to the product specifications.

Enforce cleanliness, and area inspections throughout the shift to ensure food safety working conditions are not affected.

Work with the management team, communicate and enforce corrective actions to ensure products meet required specifications.

Collect product samples for testing (analysis conducted in the laboratory)

Assist in identifying corrective actions when test results exceed the established limits. Following all Good Manufacturing Practices.

Report and work with the Quality Control Supervisor regarding bottlenecks and specific information relating to product and production information.

Engage in quality calibrations and internal audits professionally.

Facility inspections, ensuring measuring and other monitored equipment is functioning properly, reporting equipment issues to the production supervisor, and submitting work order requests.

Closely monitor finished products, and report deficiencies for approval of onward shipment to the market.

Share thoughts to improve and update Quality Control policies.

Help determine the “root cause” of customers’ complaints, feedback, and foreign material identified in the facility.

Recommend modifications to already existing production standards within the limits of available equipment capacity and capability.

Proper assessment of suppliers

Physical Requirements:

Employee must have the ability to lift 50 lbs. onto waist-high shelves.

Employee must have the ability to carry/lift to 10-55 lbs.

Frequent bending at the waist/knees

Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands/fingers.

Exposure to a multi-temp, QC-regulated, food production environment.

Required to work in refrigerated and frozen environments, near noisy machinery, and confined spaces as part of daily QC and production activities.

Requirements

English - Read and write.

Fluent Bilingual Spanish

Basic math knowledge

Basic knowledge of Quality Control

Flexible with assigned hours (monthly hourly rotation)
