Description:

Plan, implement, and coordinate safety programs company-wide, requiring application of engineering principles and technology, to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions. Administer workers compensation benefits.

Responsibilities

Create, update and maintain plant safety programs in accordance with OSHA regulations.

Maintain and apply knowledge of current OSHA regulations and relevant state workers compensation laws.

Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and to ensure safety regulation compliance.

Ensure accurate overall recordkeeping of safety and workers compensation for legal and inspection purposes.

Administer workers compensation claims from opening to closure.

Recommend safety enhancements that will reduce employees' exposure to work hazards.

Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.

Report or review findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing.

Administer company safety incentive program.

Create annual safety training program and track progress to ensure all plants are OSHA compliant.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications

College degree or equivalent experience required. OSHA training/certification preferred.

Three to five years previous work-related experience.

Minimal overnight travel required.

Computer skills required; Outlook email, Word, Excel.
