Job Description
Business Development Manager – Luxury Interior Design
Bellevue, WA
A boutique interior design studio known for creating refined, globally inspired spaces is looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to help drive thoughtful growth. Based in Seattle, this small, creative team specializes in high-end residential projects and select commercial interiors that prioritize beauty, balance, and wellness. Their work is detail-driven and deeply personal—tailored to a discerning clientele.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in a small, design-driven environment—where collaboration is essential, roles are fluid, and every team member contributes meaningfully to the studio's success. The ideal candidate is a strategic relationship builder with deep ties in luxury real estate, architecture, or luxury construction markets, and someone who will lead strategic growth for a well-established brand. If you bring both a deep local network and a proactive, independent approach to cultivating new relationships, and want to play a key role in shaping the future of a thriving interior design firm, let's talk.
Responsibilities:
Lead business development efforts with a focus on luxury residential and select boutique commercial clients.
Build authentic relationships with real estate agents, developers, architects, builders, and like-minded creatives.
Connect with art collectors, gallery owners, editors, and other cultural tastemakers who influence design decisions in the region.
Identify and engage with potential clients—executives relocating to Seattle, well-traveled homeowners, high-end builders, and hospitality clients.
Actively engage with Seattle's art and design community—including photographers, editors, artisans, and gallery owners—as a natural extension of the brand's presence in creative and cultural spaces.
Collaborate with marketing to refine a results-driven sales strategy; contribute to marketing budget decisions and performance analytics.
Serve as a brand ambassador, attending networking events and creating visibility with the right clientele and creative collaborators.
Contribute ideas for content, events, and partnerships that bring the right kind of visibility to the firm.
Monitor market trends and real estate movement in the Seattle region to align business development efforts with regional demand.
Work in tandem with the design team and external marketing agency to ensure brand consistency and effective messaging.
Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in business development, sales, or relationship-building roles within luxury design, real estate, or construction.
Deep knowledge of the Seattle-area market and strong existing network across the design and build community.
Comfortable targeting multimillion-dollar residential builds, major renovations, and boutique commercial projects.
Strong, existing relationships across design-adjacent industries—including architecture, construction, real estate, and ideally the local art and creative communities.
Proven ability to generate new business and cultivate recurring, referral-based relationships in the luxury market.
Ties to the local art, architecture, and culture scenes—you naturally move in these circles.
Energetic, personable, and hands-on. You don't mind rolling up your sleeves or stepping into a strategy session one minute and a client walk-through the next.
Independent and entrepreneurial, yet collaborative with internal teams and external partners.
Tech-savvy with working knowledge of CRM tools, sales tracking, and digital marketing insights.
