Bizzell US is seeking three (3) skilled System Administrators to support the operational continuity and infrastructure management of FOH IT systems. The role involves proactive system administration, server and application support, and incident response within a federal environment managing customized Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) applications.
These roles are essential for ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing system operations for over 800 users.
Key Responsibilities
System Operations & Maintenance
Manage daily operations for on-premises and cloud-hosted servers, including installation, configuration, and patching.
Maintain backups, system snapshots, and business continuity mechanisms.
Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity.
Apply updates and service packs in accordance with approved change management procedures.
Incident Response & Recovery
Diagnose and resolve system outages, hardware/software failures, and performance issues.
Implement and test disaster recovery and system restoration procedures.
Provide support for system continuity during planned and unplanned outages.
Technical Support & Security
Collaborate with cybersecurity personnel to maintain system compliance with HHS security standards.
Support audits and vulnerability remediation efforts.
Conduct regular log analysis, usage tracking, and incident documentation.
Integration & Enhancement
Support integration of new systems, applications, or tools as directed by the Government.
Assist with virtualization efforts (e.g., VMs, containers), storage configuration, and secure remote access.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain up-to-date system diagrams, configuration records, and operational documentation.
Provide input to the weekly status reports and incident response records.
Support the development of SOPs for system administration tasks.Requirements:
Required Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of hands-on system administration experience in Windows or Linux environments.
Experience with system monitoring, patch management, backups, and recovery tools.
Strong understanding of network and server security principles.
Familiarity with virtualization tools (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and Active Directory.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in federal government or healthcare-related environments.
Familiarity with IBM Maximo, FedHealth, or other GOTS systems used by FOH.
CompTIA Security+ or similar DoD 8570 compliant certification.
Experience supporting hybrid cloud/on-prem infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Work Environment
Core hours are 7AM to 6PM EST; rotating on-call duties may apply for outage response.
Hybrid role with on-site presence in Rockville, MD as required.
