Norton Hammersley is a full-service AV Rated downtown Sarasota law firm and provides top-quality legal services. We are seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant/Paralegal with experience in litigation. Responsibilities Include:

Handle communication with clients, witnesses, etc.

Monitor deadlines and maintain calendar for cases and attorneys;

Ensure proper indexing and filing of original legal documents;

Transcribe, type and file basic legal documents and correspondence.

All aspects of litigation case management including the discovery process, tracking and communicating case-related dates/deadlines and information, and trial preparation.

Preparation of initial discovery (i.e. interrogatories, request for production, request for admissions, etc.)

Preparation of all materials needed for depositions, mediations and trials (including deposition summaries.

Ensure proper indexing and filing of legal documents;

Database maintenance; locate and develop case relevant information;

·Answer phone calls.

Qualified Applicants Will Have:

3+ years of working experience as Legal Assistant experience in a law firm setting is required.

Proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook are required.

Working Knowledge and experience of E-filing in both State and Federal Court systems;

·Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and good judgment.

Analytical and critical thinking skills sufficient to make decisions regarding daily work;

Excellent communication skills;

Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities.

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Must be a team player and able to collaborate with others.
