Position Overview:

We are seeking a spiritually mature, talented, and culturally attuned Minister of Music to lead our music ministry with a focus on African worship styles, particularly in the Yoruba language. The role includes planning and preparing music for all church services, especially Yoruba services, as well as preaching, teaching, and leading prayers.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and prepare music for all church services, with a special focus on Yoruba services, ensuring alignment with sermon themes and church programs.

Lead worship during services, incorporating traditional and contemporary African worship styles with Yoruba hymns, songs, and choruses.

Preach and teach in alignment with RCCG doctrines, emphasizing spiritual growth and cultural relevance.

Lead prayers during services and other church programs, creating a powerful atmosphere of intercession.

Direct and mentor the choir, instrumentalists, and other music teams, ensuring spiritual and musical growth.

Conduct rehearsals to ensure excellence in worship delivery and performance.

Collaborate with church leadership to integrate the music and worship ministry with the overall vision of the church.

Organize special events such as worship nights, choir festivals, and cultural praise programs.

Provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance to members of the music team.

Qualifications and Requirements:

A demonstrable personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a calling to music and teaching ministry.

Proficiency in singing, leading worship, and playing at least one musical instrument.

Strong understanding of RCCG doctrines, values, and African worship traditions, with a focus on Yoruba language and culture.

Proven experience in leading worship, teaching, and leading prayers in a church setting.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

A heart for serving the congregation and fostering a culturally enriched worship experience.

Start Date:

The successful candidate is expected to begin their role on 23rd March 2025.
