Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior System Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system administration and engineering, with proficiency in VMWare, Hyper-V, Windows, Linux, Storage, Networking, and AWS Cloud. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining our organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance across all systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage virtualized environments using VMWare and Hyper-V.
Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring their security, stability, and performance.
Oversee storage solutions, including SAN/NAS management, backup strategies, and data recovery procedures.
Manage networking infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs, ensuring seamless connectivity and network security.
Deploy, manage, and optimize AWS Cloud services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, and IAM, to support cloud-based applications and workloads.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime and service disruptions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployment, configuration management, and IT operations.
Implement and enforce security best practices across all systems, including patch management, vulnerability assessments, and incident response.
Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in system administration, with a focus on virtualization, Windows/Linux servers, and networking.
Strong hands-on experience with VMWare and Hyper-V.
Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Windows and Linux operating systems.
Solid understanding of storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and cloud storage.
In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewall configurations.
Experience with AWS Cloud services and best practices.
Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
