Overview:
We are seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our Advanced Programs team in Boulder, CO. In this role, you will drive innovation, solve complex challenges, and implement Agile processes across multiple projects. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage Agile processes across multiple AP 2025 IRAD projects.
Plan, coordinate, and execute Program Increments (PI) to drive program efficiency.
Manage workflows across teams and work centers using Jira Scrum and Kanban boards.
Identify and mitigate bottlenecks, dependencies, and inefficiencies.
Standardize recurring processes and optimize workflows.
Conduct backlog management, program increment planning, and milestone mapping.
Develop and maintain Confluence and Jira templates for project leads.
Coordinate multiple Agile teams to ensure alignment with best practices.
Foster a culture of collaboration, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.
Work with Lean and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.
Transition teams from Waterfall to Agile methodologies.
Generate and analyze project performance metrics.
Oversee system design, development, and integration of hardware/software components.
Work closely with engineering, program management, and key stakeholders.
Travel up to 10% to support business needs.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Systems Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) + 5 years of experience, or
Master’s degree + 3 years of experience, or
PhD + 1 year of experience.
Experience with DOORS (requirements management tool).
Strong technical writing skills for analysis and reporting.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
Active DoD Secret clearance (must be current and in-scope).
Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree in STEM + 8 years of experience, or
Master’s degree + 6 years of experience, or
PhD + 4 years of experience.
Experience with DOORS (requirements management tool).
Strong technical writing skills for analysis and reporting.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
Active DoD Secret clearance (must be current and in-scope).
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics.
Active TS/SCI clearance.
Experience with Rhapsody or Cameo (modeling tools).
Familiarity with SysML, UML, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
