About the Role

Central Texas Recruiting is seeking a Chemistry Patent Agent to join our client’s Patent Development & Strategy group. This role involves patent prosecution, application drafting, and intellectual property portfolio management for a top-tier law firm. The ideal candidate has a chemistry or chemical engineering background, USPTO registration, and strong analytical and writing skills.

Key Responsibilities

Patent Prosecution & Strategy

️ Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications related to chemistry and chemical engineering

️ Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses

️ Manage and advise on intellectual property portfolios

Research & Due Diligence

️ Perform prior art searches and analyze patent landscapes

️ Prepare patent validity and infringement opinions

️ Collaborate with attorneys, inventors, and clients to develop patent strategies

️ Compliance & Legal Support

️ Stay updated on USPTO regulations and industry best practices

️ Ensure compliance with all patent laws and firm policies

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certifications

️ Bachelor’s or Graduate Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry

️ USPTO Registration (Required)

Experience & Skills

️ Minimum 2 years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm setting

️ Strong writing, research, and analytical skills

️ Ability to work independently and collaboratively
