About the Role
Central Texas Recruiting is seeking a Sr. Fixed Equipment Reliability Engineer for our client. This role is responsible for ensuring maximum mechanical asset availability, driving performance improvements, and reducing production risks. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader in reliability engineering, capital forecasting, and maintenance strategy execution.
Key Responsibilities
Reliability Engineering & Equipment Optimization
️ Ensure 100% availability of mechanical assets to meet production goals
️ Lead failure analysis, troubleshooting, and maintenance strategies for rotating & stationary equipment
️ Implement proactive reliability solutions, including predictive maintenance & condition monitoring
️ Design & execute equipment upgrades, replacements, and overhauls to improve reliability
Performance & Process Improvement
️ Drive zero unplanned downtime by implementing reliability best practices
️ Utilize Six Sigma tools to improve maintenance, reliability, and production performance
️ Document and analyze equipment failure history and OEE data using SAP
️ Perform root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and repair vs. replacement evaluations
Leadership & Technical Support
️ Lead a zero-incident safety culture, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations
️ Provide technical expertise on reliability best practices and cost-saving initiatives
️ Support maintenance technician training & development
️ Work with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and optimize asset care plans
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Skills
️ Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required
️ Strong problem-solving, leadership, and time management skills
️ Experience with Fathom, Compress, Aspen, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office
️ Knowledge of Mechanical Integrity (MI) and Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance
Experience & Certifications
️ 10+ years of experience in mechanical reliability within chemical, plastics, or refining industries
️ Expertise in rotating & fixed equipment troubleshooting and specification
️ Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
️ Preferred: Professional Engineering (PE) license, CMRP, Vibration Analysis Level 1, API Certifications
