Full Time Chef
SALARY $75,000+ SUPERANNUATION
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for maintaining the sushi, sashimi section as well as the hot section.
• Keep updated with Japanese cuisine trends and plan and create menus, including
estimating costs and ordering food supplies.
• Maintain stringent quality control standards throughout the food preparation and
presentation process.
• Collaborate with managers, dietitians, and both kitchen and front-of-house staff to
address any concerns related to food preparation.
• Demonstrate culinary techniques and provide cooking method guidance to kitchen
staff.
• Prepare catering and arrange functions.
• Skilfully prepare and cook a varied selection of Japanese dishes, including sushi,
sashimi, and more.
• Ensure that all dishes meet dietary requirements and comply with food safety and
sanitation guidelines.
• Participate in the selection of new kitchen staff and provide coaching and
motivation to less experienced kitchen staff.
• Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working
environment.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Relevant Diploma of Hospitality Management
At least 2 years of relevant experience in Japanese Restaurant, specialising in speciality sushi and sashimi
Experience in training and coaching staff
Experience in creating new menu and items
