The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the Department of Defense (DoD). These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)), DARPA, the Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

We have a near-term need for an OSD Air Warfare Systems Engineering/Acquisition Analyst to provide onsite support at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

The Senior Air Warfare Acquisition Analysts will support OSD oversight and portfolio management of the Services’ acquisition of tactical air platforms and weapon systems. This position supports the portfolio of programs assigned to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Platform and Weapons Portfolio Management (DASD(PWPM)), including but not limited to: Air-Launched Weapons Portfolio, TACAIR portfolio, Bombers portfolio, and/or ISR Aircraft portfolio. The analysts shall provide weapon system enterprise and portfolio capability analysis in support of programmatic, cost, schedule, performance, and risk assessments as needed to support oversight and management of assigned portfolio. Will conduct robust assessments of acquisition program health of the portfolio of programs assigned; develop products suitable for DoD leadership review for high priority and/or time sensitive projects; and facilitate and support senior leader working groups and prepare and review studies, operations concepts and acquisition plans, to include participating or leading the development of studies or reports for Congressionally Directed Actions, as required.

We are looking for analysts to fill two separate portfolios within the same office: one primarily on Tactical Aircraft (TACAIR) and air-launched weapons, and one to focus primarily on Bombers and ISR aircraft.

Qualifications

Required:

15+ years of systems engineering experience with DoD Tactical Air platforms and weapon systems, with a focus on air-launched weapons or ISR aircraft portfolio/capabilities

Knowledge of the Defense Acquisition System, including the Adaptive Acquisition Framework

Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to be approved for Special Access Programs (SAPs)

Master's Degree

Desired:

Experience in a Program Management Office

Previous clearance/read-on for Special Access Programs

DAWIA or PMP certification
