Position: - Research Analyst

Working Hours: M-F

Salary Range: $900-1,800USD

Scope of the Role

This role involves a combination of research, data management, and trend analysis to support our clients' strategic decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have strong research and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Duties and responsibilities:

Research and Data Collection:

Identify inward investment projects using various sources.

Conduct web-based research to gather additional project information.

Perform open-source research to complete missing data fields.

Database Management:

Maintain database records through regular review of related open-source materials (regulatory filings, corporate records, and other sources).

Trend Analysis and Reporting:

Research and update FDI projects, including relocations, closures, downsizing, expansion projects, and collocations.

Contribute to client research projects through data compilation and analysis.

Collaboration and Support:

Assist in the development of information sources.

Identify potential investment leads.

Conduct ad-hoc research and production tasks.

Provide data support for the sales team according to geographical appointments.

Qualifications and Experience:

Third-level qualification or higher in a business, economics, or data-related subject.

Excellent research and analytical skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work on your own initiative.

Highly organized with the ability to plan and prioritize.

Adaptable team player with a positive attitude.

Desirable:

Knowledge of other main European or world languages would be a strong advantage.

Sound understanding of economic globalization and cross-border investment.

Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in an online environment, database management, or desk-based research.

Analytical and report writing skills.

Requirements:

Experience with data processing and database maintenance.

Proficiency in spoken and written English. Advanced Mandarin Chinese reading skills are required; other languages are a plus.

Familiarity with open-source research and corporate documents. Ideal candidates can read and interpret company filings, corporate records, policy documents, and news in Chinese.

Competency in Microsoft Excel is required; experience with other software (Retool, Python) is a plus.

Attention to detail, ability to follow detailed guidelines, and ability to stress-test your own work.

Ability to work remotely and effectively collaborate with team members across various time zones (North America, Europe, and Asia).
