Summary of the role: Supports organizational objectives by performing daily/weekly/monthly PJM energy market settlement activities, independently completing reporting requirements, and leading the development and implementation of new business processes including but not limited to aggregating and analyzing data, providing variance analysis, creating data reports and assisting in financial budget forecasting of various drivers of the power markets and settlements in the business planning process.

Manage power settlements reports for a set of Market Based large customer accounts including the creation and validation of weekly power invoices, reconciliations, issue resolution and overall transaction controllership.

Become the subject matter expert of the NISC billing systems as it relates to wholesale market settlement activities and act as a point of contact for large customers, employees and departments who utilize the system and/or have inquiries on data extracted from the system.

Collects and prioritizes division information requirements and develops plans and activities that will result in the automation of these requirements.

Provides business process and systems subject matter expertise in departmental and cross-functional projects.

This role will work a hybrid schedule after successful completion of an on-site introductory period.

Overview of the role: Assists with developing and maintaining specialized reports and business intelligence tools.

Supports internal operational processes to monitor, report, analyze and improve performance of PJM power settlements operations.

Meets the established requirements documented for functionality, interfaces, and reports.

Coordinates and conducts business process reviews to capture the current state of the process, identify problems, develop and evaluate solutions, and facilitate implementation.

Understands and manages data integrity of their application and the relationship of data with all corporate applications.

Has the ability to become a 'super user' of the billing and settlement systems to serve as a liaison between the functional end users and technical staff.

Prepares and maintains documentation related to end-user use of the system.

Writes and maintains NOVEC software systems documentation and provides reference materials and support/help desk to end-users.

Conducts initial system troubleshooting and analysis.

Recommends resolution to end-user and works with outsourced IT vendor to achieve technical resolution.

Conducts software orientation workshops and seminars and coordinates development, training, and communication needs for employees.

Assists in training of newly hired analysts on existing processes and system utilization.

Configures, updates, and edits system administration tables to support process requirements, maintain data integrity, and meets users' needs.

Develops business cases for new software releases and upgrades of market settlement reporting tools.

Prepares test plans and coordinates testing efforts of system upgrades and modifications.

Works continually towards self-development to stay current on energy market settlement operations, information management software, and computer science-related procedures and practices.

Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution (i.e.

Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, IT or Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance) 3-5 years of related experience and/or training are required, including business, financial or data analysis, working with relational databases, table structures, end-user support, project management 3-5 years of advanced Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and business intelligence or data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.

Knowledge of querying functionality, report writing, software troubleshooting.

Proven experiences aggregating, organizing, analyzing and disseminating data for use in various business functions such as forecasting and business planning.

Experience using Meter Data Management Systems or Customer Service Systems is preferred.

A working knowledge of SQL is preferred.

Experience with power transactions and settlements in major regulated and non-regulated energy markets is preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Professional Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and mathematical skills.
