SUMMARY: The Lead Mechanic oversees the maintenance tasks in the service, repair, and overhaul of aircraft to insure airworthiness. Ensures timely completion of tasks and provides training and mentorship for an assigned function area. Assists with Maintenance Supervisor responsibilities for short periods of time.

REQUIREMENTS:

Previous Leadership experience

Previous Commercial MRO experience - 5+ years' experience on 737/Airbus

Experience with Main cabin installations

R&R experience (remove and re-install) - Galley, panels, seats, carpet and lavs

Valid Airframe and Powerplant Licensure

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures all tasks are promptly completed in compliance with federal regulations, customer guidelines and company policies.

Reviews required customer and FAA paperwork to ensure proper maintenance updates and compliance with applicable regulations and customer requirements.

Leads the maintenance, preventative maintenance, or alteration of, or approve and return to service, any aircraft, or part thereof, only for which that Lead is rated and has satisfactorily performed the work concerned at an earlier date.

Performs maintenance tasks as required and becomes an active member of the crew.

Conducts crew meetings to ensure communication regarding work, safety, and quality.

Uses technical data to order parts and ensure material is effective for aircraft being installed on.

Ensures all parts for specialty area are ordered in a timely manner and Ensures Engineering is submitted in timely manner as needed.

Responsible for keeping all assigned areas clean and audit ready and Ensures compliance with safety requirements.

Recommends changes to processes to improve efficiencies and workflow.

Complies with, communicates, and provides guidance to team members on company policies, procedures and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.

Mentors and develops technical and leadership skills of the mechanics.

Communicates with Supervisor all information on assigned employees including disciplinary problems. May deliver or give input with performance evaluations on assigned employees.

Provides regular feedback and performance coaching including appropriate management of time, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring proper knowledge and training to accomplish assignments to all members of assigned crew.
