JOB TITLE: Controller

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Yes

POSITION SUMMARY

Reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. In the absence of the CFO, acts on their behalf. Responsible for supervision of staff.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares and analyzes monthly, quarterly and yearly consolidated financial statements in accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Responsible for coordinating all audits by outside agencies as well as annual financial audits.

Supervises accounts payable, budgets, grants, contracts and general ledger.

Monitors and reports on financial performance of individual departments and the division as a whole, and recommends corrective actions based on analysis.

Responsible for coordinating and presenting departmental budgets.

Works closely with HR department on Payroll related deliverables.

Assists the Chief Financial Officer in handling a wide range of tasks of varying complexity.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Possesses strong supervisory and organizational skills.

Ability to communicate well with others.

Solid working knowledge of accounting systems.

Must carry out all functions in accordance with pre-established procedures and meet deadlines established for the Department.

Ability to create new processes and procedures for efficiency.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Masterâ s degree in accounting, CPA required. At least five yearsâ experience in managerial accounting, experience in health care setting preferable. Bilingual a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Requires sitting for long periods of time. Working in an office environment. Some bending and stretching required. Working under stress and use of telephone required. Manual dexterity for use of computer keyboard.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal office environment. Occasional evening and/or weekend work expected.
