Job Summary:

As the Americas Infrastructure Director, your role involves collaborating with other Eisai regions and global Enterprise Information Technology teams, contributing to the global infrastructure strategy design and implementation by understanding Americas business and IT requirements. You'll represent Americas EIT in global governance bodies and work closely with colleagues to establish consistent services implementation. Additionally, you'll build stakeholder relationships, ensure cost-effective IT service delivery, collaborate with IT Security, and provide leadership to managed services vendors. Organizational management responsibilities include resource prioritization, alignment with the CIO Office, and coaching and mentoring direct reports. Your focus will be on achieving strategic objectives while maintaining cost efficiency.

Essential Functions:

Execute the Global Infrastructure Roadmap

Collaborates with other Eisai regions, global EIT teams and global EIT Leadership Team (LT), contributing to the global infrastructure strategy build by providing Americas business and IT requirements, constraints and needs.

Implement the global infrastructure strategy in alignment with the Americas context.

Represents Americas EIT in global infrastructure governance bodies.

Works closely with EIT colleagues (business relationship managers, application leaders and infrastructure operations) to establish a methodology for consistent services implementation.

Infrastructure Services Operations

Builds successful Americas stakeholder relationships within EIT and by developing a clear understanding of business needs, acting as a trusted advisor, and ensuring cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs.

Has a customer orientation mindset and ensures customer satisfaction for service delivery.

Collaborates with IT Security to ensure Eisai technology infrastructure contributes to, embraces, and applies global security strategy.

When relevant, directs the development of a regional infrastructure technology sourcing strategy and provides executive oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management.

Provide leadership to managed services vendors to drive performance improvement, quality, and cost optimization.

Drives a culture of continuous improvement that proactively manages resolution of serious and complex problems, identifying underlying causes and performing corrective action appropriately.

In keeping with the technology roadmap, provide team with guidance to accomplish organizations objectives.

Produce dashboards and reports to communicate goals, milestones and status across the organization.

Organizational Management

Works with the Regional EIT Leadership Team on the service portfolio and governance required to prioritize resources, including budget. Works with key stakeholders to measure and prioritize technical debt remediation.

Collaborate with CIO Office to align strategy, initiatives and projects across the regional EIT organization. Consult with CIO Office to ensure financial and resource targets are established in alignment with overall EIT strategy and objectives.

Provide daily coaching and mentoring to staff (direct reports and project teams). Manage direct reports including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, and performance management. Identify development opportunities and align to career objectives. Highlight strengths and reward successes.

Develops and controls the annual Americas project (BUILD) and operations (RUN) budgets to ensure that it's consistent with the overall strategic objectives of EIT and the enterprise and is within plan. Creates a culture of continuous cost optimization.

Requirements

Scope

Decisions for Eisai Americas infrastructure: investment planning, business outcomes, budgeting and systems related decisions.

Direct influence over entire IT infrastructure budget of $35 Million including capital projects and associated expenditures.

Directs a staff of 10+ employees and 100+ or more contractors and / or consultants.

Directs key managed service providers deploying and supporting infrastructure technology platforms and services.

Governs all infrastructure technology for Eisai EIT regionally.

Education

College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information science, management information systems, or business administration.

Minimum of 15 years related work experience.

Master of Business Administration with technology as a core component preferred.

Information Technology Experience

Experience leading and managing infrastructure technology and platforms in the pharma and/or biotech industry.

Ability to translate business needs into technology requirements and estimate the financial impact of alternatives.

Strong analysis skills and experience, including development of IT infrastructure vision and strategy, requirements definition, process modeling, and operating model design

Solid systems orientation with a thorough familiarity of emerging technologies such as business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics and its applicability to the pharma and biotech industry.

Strong problem-solving ability through insightful solutions which address complex issues. Ability to dissect root cause of issues creating the best solution for Eisai considering quality, cost, and speed requirements.

Strong technical knowledge and extensive application support experience of systems and applications within the pharma and biotech domain.

Strong understanding of pharma and biotech business functions including principles, practices, and procedures.

In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

Strong understanding of project management principles and Systems Development Life Cycle standards.

Experience in implementing and maintaining robust cybersecurity practices, including risk management, access controls, network security, and compliance, is essential.

Experience in managing application / system changes in accordance with computer system validation, 21 CFR Part 11 and GxP.

Leadership and Teamwork

Strong track record of effective cross-functional and cross-cultural team collaboration and execution.

Ready to think, behave and act in an innovative consulting manner to drive the organization’s digital business strategies.

Information Technology Planning, Analysis, Design, Architecture and Management

The ability to work at all levels of the organization to develop a vision for platform roadmaps and maintain consensus around the strategic direction allowing us to meet Eisai business needs.

Strong business analysis skill and experience, including development of business/IT vision and strategy, requirements definition, process modeling, and operating model design.

Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and enterprise architecture and ITIL frameworks.
