Description:

Manages & maintains adequate corrosion control systems for Valero pipeline assets, including monitoring, testing, design, and installation. Manages direct and indirect technicians supporting US, UK and Canadian Pipeline and Terminal Systems. Provides support for refineries as needed.

Maintains effective corrosion control systems for pipeline and terminals.

Runs test, as needed, for design of corrosion control systems.

Inspects installation of cathodic protection systems.

Troubleshoots and mitigates interference problems.

Performs verification of task for Operator Qualification program.

Provides support of Allegro Field Computers to operations personnel for annual pipe to soil surveys.

Reviews and maintains field data with Pipeline Compliance Software.

Approves design for new installations and interference mitigation solutions.

Interacts, trains and supports operations personnel that acquire pertinent data concerning corrosion control.

Inspects and advises on coating inspection and failure analysis as needed.

Insures compliance with federal and state regulations.

Reduces potential risk to public safety and environment and minimize company liability.

Improves operations efficiency and financial profitability through well-maintained facilities.

Assist Sr Manager Corrosion develop, maintain, and update corrosion control written program, procedures, and applicable forms.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

High School diploma or GED required.

10 years of corrosion control systems experience in the Pipeline & Terminal industry required.

Extensive experience in mitigation of corrosion of subsurface pipelines and above ground storage tanks required.

NACE Certified Technician required.

NACE CP2 or higher certification required.

Extensive experience in internal corrosion control management of pipelines preferred.

Bachelor's or technical degree preferred.

Senior Corrosion Technologist Certification preferred.

NACE Coating Certification preferred.

Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.
