Description:

At Saputo, our best comes from our people. We’re a talented and caring team with a longstanding history of excellence. Since our first days delivering cheese on a bicycle, we’ve grown into a leading global dairy processor by staying true to the culture that defines us. Each of our employees is committed to uphold our tradition of care, quality, and passion through food, and together, we foster an environment where we can all make contributions that matter–from our manufacturing plants to our office locations and everywhere in-between.

This role is a key one within our Kirkby site, where we produce our butters, spreads and oils, with a primary focus on site services and utilities, ensuring the plant is in a position to continue running to the highest capacity possible.

As an asset care engineer, you’ll be working to schedule and complete PPMs across the site in a hands-on role with mechanical and electrical responsibilities.

You’ll be working across all relevant areas, including HVAC, steam and ammonia processes, and our on-site water-treatment plant.

Salary: £50,384.25 per/annum

Shift pattern: 3-on/3-off shift pattern (days) 12-hour shifts.

SDUK's brands include the Nation’s favourite cheese brand Cathedral City plus other well-known butter & spreads (Clover, Country Life, Vitalite, Utterly Butterly, Wensleydale, and Sheese), functional ingredients and dairy free products.

YOU’LL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY…

Completing day-to-day planned preventative maintenance schedules to support the delivery of the site maintenance strategy, ensuring reliable operation of the plant.

Implementing the asset care strategy to meet day-to-day and long-term goals of the business in a safe and sustainable manner.

Ensuring adherence to all food and safety standards, GMP and SSOW.

Driving a quality culture through the adherence to first class engineering techniques.

Providing detailed technical guidance for the planning and completion of activities.

Supporting and developing continuous improvement activities based on captured field data within the department to identify improvement opportunities and drive actions to completion.

Improving asset care standards across the department and ensuring that the site is complaint.

Working autonomously when required, and part of the wider team, with broad responsibilities to help identify and drive fault-finding activities towards resolving and preventing issues.

YOU’RE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE…

An experienced and time-served engineer through an apprenticeship, NVQ, or HNC – mechanically biased but with electrical knowledge.

Experienced working as a site services engineer with excellent knowledge of utilities plant and equipment maintenance procedures and routines (including HVAC, steam, ammonia and water treatment).

Someone who enjoys a hands-on approach to engineering, with demonstratable practical engineering skills.

Able to demonstrate an understanding of current relevant legislations.

WE SUPPORT AND CARE FOR OUR EMPLOYEES BY PROVIDING YOU WITH…
