Overview:
Monday- Friday - ONSITE
Responsible for planning, managing, and leadership of the multi-disciplined product engineering team. Key responsibilities include: developing business and technology roadmaps that will lead to sustainable profitable growth, interfacing with shared services within the organization, and contributing to the overall financial performance of the business unit.
• Department leader for heavy-duty and light/medium duty diagnostics scan tools and supporting systems and infrastructure.
• Leadership role in management of business including the overall financial performance and long-term strategy.
• Lead a variety of hardware/firmware, Windows desktop applications, Android & Linux embedded applications, and Microsoft web-based services engineering teams.
Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree: Engineering, Business Administration, or related, or equivalent experience.
• Advanced degree preferred.
Years of Experience:
• 15 Years previous engineering experience
• 10 Years previous managerial experience
Other Requirements:
• Team building skills with the ability to motivate associates.
• Experience in working with remote engineering sites, preferably within and outside the United States.
• Experience developing or managing development of hardware systems, hosted web-based systems, desktop application systems, and embedded systems.
• Experience with external hosting providers preferred.
• Continuous Improvement (Lean) experience with a proven track record of achievements.
• Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Financial acumen and the ability to understand strategic financial opportunities.
• Required travel: 5-10%, including internationally.
Responsibilities:
• Develop key members of the team – job skill improvement, career development, and succession planning
• Develop engineering long range strategy, including management of quality, technical debt, and technical stack.
• Manage engineering processes and projects for products, manufacturing, distribution, and support.
• Collaborate on the end of life product strategies related to product and systems development.
• Manage and enhance key metrics to manage the performance of the engineering teams.
• Collaborate with other Snap-on Groups and Divisions to execute product, support, and financial goals.
• Oversee/sponsor Rapid Continuous Improvements (i.e. Lean Initiatives) within areas of responsibilty to drive cost out and improve the overall productivity and quality output of the team.
• Develop and manage the annual budget for engineering.
• Meet the financial/growth commitments set by the business unit strategic plan.
• Understand and exhibit the Snap-on Incorporated values.
