Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse, LPN/LVN
Place of Performance: Fort Bliss, TX
Specific Tasks:
• Shall see an average of 4 to 6 patients per hour, and/or the patient per hour average of the other collective CPs, unless affected by circumstances beyond their control, which shall be reported to the Section OIC/NCOIC or designee.
• Shall comply with all MTF productivity standards and maintain a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services.
• Shall obtain service member history and pertinent family history.
• Shall administer Health Risk Appraisal questionnaire.
• Shall perform quality control checks and operator maintenance for service member care equipment.
• Shall assist in identifying service member needs and implementing the plan of care.
• Shall document pertinent care already provided and care needed in the facility.
• Shall maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with directives and prepare such records and reports as may be required by the policy.
• Shall prepare all documentation to meet or exceed established standards to include but not limited to timeliness, legibility, accuracy, content, and signature.
• Shall communicate pertinent service member data to Physician, Physician Assistant (PA), and/or Nurse Practitioner (NP) as appropriate.
• Shall recognize and initiate appropriate measures in emergency situations, including initiating life-saving measures in absence of Physician, PA, and/or NP.
• Shall assist with clinic/section related administrative tasks.
• Shall complete each encounter at the end of the day and appropriately close the record.
• Shall follow established government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols in the performance of duties as outlined in MTF policies and procedures.

• Document Care Given. Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with applicable directives and prepare such records and reports as may be required by the policy.
• Ensure all documentation and reports are legible and complete. The CP shall prepare all documentation to meet or exceed established standards to include but not limited to timeliness, legibility, accuracy, content, and signature.
• Prepare service members for physical examination.
• Carry out prescribed Physician, PA, and/or NP orders and document in service member medical records.
• Communicate pertinent service member data to Physician, PA, and/or NP as appropriate.
• Respond to telephone inquiries regarding clinic services and/or follow-up ancillary reports.
• Shall abide by all clinical standards, rules, and procedures including requirements for licensure, credentialing, and quality assurance programs.
• Shall comply with all health requirements, immunizations, and vaccinations.
• Shall complete all DoD, DHA, and MTF-specified training requirements.
• Shall personally record hours worked in the Defense Medical Human Resources System – internet (DMHRSi) system, or other system, as required by the MTF.
Education:
• Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by the Commission on Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), or another acceptable accreditation body.
Experience:
• Possess a minimum of one year of experience within the last three years working as a full-time LVN/LPN.
Licensure:
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse.
Additional Certification:
• Possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. The American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers is the only program accepted. BLS recertification shall be maintained in a current status at all times.
