Job Description
Responsibilities :
Responsible for providing clerical support such as filing and data entry.
Daily tax processing and client reporting functions. This includes but is not limited to Local and Global Clearing and Custody (LC & GC) with respect to:
Client tax documentation review and account validation
Tax projections, withholding, and adjustments
Daily exception monitoring
Provide operations support for the production of all 1042-S and 1099 U.S. regulatory tax filings.
Deliver client reporting for pending payments and allocation of tax treaty rates to be applied
Process EDS elections at US Depository for relief at source opportunities
Work closely with the income and corporate actions department for the proper tax treatment of events
Review events for the proper tax treatment under Section 302/304 of the IRC
Respond to client inquiries with detailed responses in a timely manner
Ensure client accounts are properly documented and documents provided are complete and accurate
Deliver high quality of service to ever more demanding clients
Complete projects and initiatives as assigned.
Ensure responsibilities are performed within appropriate client service level agreement (SLA)
Follow the main principles of Banking Operations, especially through the segregation of tasks
Ensure operational procedures are clearly defined, updated and followed
Participate in the design and the implementation of IT solutions necessary for the completion and the development of the CCS activity in line with BPSS standards and objectives and in line with client activities
Initiate and drive initiatives/system updates to improve tax processing capability
Facilitate communication between US and Lisbon operational teams
Required Skills:
BA required
1-3 years financial industry experience with a preferred emphasis on tax reporting in the U.S.
Requires prior knowledge of industry terminology and business processes.
Strong familiarity with all US security products and taxation
Proactive, self-motivated, and demonstrates initiative
Extremely detailed orientated
Ability to develop and document processes and procedures
Ability to juggle multiple priorities while respecting tight deadlines
Displays a keen sense of ownership, responsibility and accountability
Strong involvement and good communication skills with client focus
Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills
Preferred Skills:
Advanced degree considered a plus
