EDM Specialist

Job Description

Summary: Seeking an EDM Specialist with experience in operating CNC EDM machines, setting up complex jobs, and understanding blueprints.

Requirements:

Proficiency in programming and operating CNC EDM machines efficiently

Expertise in using the EDM machine to blend existing surfaces requiring constant inspection and machine adjustment

Ability to set up complex jobs and provide proper flushing techniques when required

Familiarity with the Erowa holding system including mounting, grinding, and redressing electrodes as needed

Competence in reading and understanding blueprints, measuring mold and tooling components, and EDM'ing these components within .0002 tolerances

Maintenance of EDM machines and personal bench area cleanliness

Ability to perform general maintenance on EDM machines

May be required to operate standard tool room equipment such as manual surface grinders, wet grinders, Bridgeport type milling machines, comparators, general inspection microscopes, lathes and basic machine shop hand tools

Responsibilities:

Undertake unattended burn time by adjusting the machine's settings

Blend existing surfaces using the EDM machine

Set up complex jobs providing proper flushing techniques when necessary

Work with Erowa holding system including mounting, grinding and redressing electrodes if needed

Read and understand blueprints; measure mold/tooling components; execute tasks within specified tolerances

Keep your workspace neat and orderly

Conduct routine maintenance on EDM machines

Operate standard toolroom equipment as required

Potentially polish or stone molding components and operate the Proto-Trak machine

Pay Details: $20.00 to $30.00 per hour
