Warehouse Controller

Job Description

Crown Staffing is hiring a Warehouse Controller in the Plainfield area! This position will be Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

Objective Of The Position: The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of accounting activities of the Account Department.

Assignments include:

researching support, compiling and posting month-end journal entries

completing balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with internal controls.

Respond to non-routine complex inquiries in assigned areas requiring judgment and the application of GAAP and policies, procedures and practices.

Principle Accountabilities

Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements.

Prepare annual budget.

Contributes to departmental goals, sets implements departmental procedures to ensure accuracy and timely reporting requirements are met.

Ensures proper internal controls are in place and monitored through monthly self-testing.

Examine accounting records.

Analyse financial statements for areas of revenue improvement and cost control.

Ensures month end close is performed timely, compliant, and accurate as well as quarterly, and year end close processes.

Assist Accounting Department with projects, research and system related tasks as assigned.

Compile and provide audit support as requested by auditors.

Provide functional advice or training in the department.

Analysis and Projection for Investment decision paper for WH expansion

Drafting Investment Decision paper

Analysis and challenge the operational and financial results of the sites

Guarantees adherence to the Budget for each site, anticipates deviations and defines the necessary corrective actions

Pro-actively delivers the local financial analysis needed to support site-level decisions (quarterly performance reviews)

Monthly and Quarterly comments for results basis inputs from accounting team and business

Presents the Financial Analysis: analyzing the contracts of the clients.

Monitors the management of the resulting actions.

Oversees financial validations of existing client portfolio

Promotes cross-site improvement by proposing new initiatives (for example, continuous improvement)

Develops performance analysis by benchmarking with other companies or within the Group

Develops, whenever possible, performance comparisons between sites and spreads best practices

Education & Work Experience Requirements / Skills

5+ years of management experience required in accounting, preferably in Freight Forwarding or 3PL

5+ years of experience as a CPA

CMA and/or MBA a plus

Excellent communication

Strong desire to learn and grow.

Bachelors Degree in accounting or equivalent experience highly preferred

Strong Leadership skills

Team player with ability to work with cross-functional teams and all levels of management

Ability and experience in managing others and prioritizing work

Ability to train and instruct others on how to perform tasks

Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Languages:

English,

Spanish and German is a Plus but not mandatory
