Software Engineer

Job Description

Summary: In search of a Software Engineer with expertise in control system design, DCS/PLC programming, and instrumentation for project requirements.

Job Requirements:

Must hold a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science; related experience may be substituted for degree

Preferred 5+ years of experience in Ethernet-based control systems, safety systems, instrumentation, components, logic programming, and DCS programming (i.e. DeltaV, Experion, 800xA)

Required experience with instrumentation and controls/PLC system design (i.e. Allen Bradley, Modicon, Siemens)

Experience with AutoCAD is desirable

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows and Office environments

Willingness to travel up to 35%

Preferred Skills:

Strong understanding of control system components and instrumentation for software interface/control design

Familiarity with Hazard analysis development and mitigation

Knowledge of Ladder logic programming language is required; C++, visual basic, and structured text are preferred

Job Responsibilities:

Oversee controls engineering project requirements involving control system design, DCS/PLC programming, control panel design, instrumentation support

Design and develop DCS/PLC control system (logic software) to meet process requirements while adhering to client design standards

Develop documents detailing control/software configuration and design; this includes operation theory/description, detailed control system design description etc.

Perform processor loading calculations, scan time analysis etc.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $65.00 per hour
