The Chief Financial Officer is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial management and performance of a growing community bank. As a key member of the executive team, the CFO will ensure effective financial planning, analysis, and reporting, while managing financial risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The incumbent will collaborate closely with senior management, providing financial expertise and guidance to support the achievement of growth objectives.

What you have already achieved (Requirements):

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, CPA, CFA) preferred.

5-7 years’ experience as a CFO or similar role, preferably in a community banking environment.

Strong understanding of banking operations, financial instruments, and regulatory requirements and completing call reports.

Proficient knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.

Demonstrated experience in managing financial risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.

Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders at different levels.

Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.

Proficiency in financial software and tools, including ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and financial modeling software.

What you are great at (Responsibilities):

Financial Strategy and Planning:

Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the overall strategic objectives of the community banks.

Compiling meaningful and succinct monthly board presentations.

Lead the annual budgeting process and ensure its alignment with organizational objectives and industry benchmarks.

Monitor financial performance using appropriate tools and methods, identifying and addressing variances promptly.

Propose strategic recommendations to drive financial growth and operational efficiency.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting process.

Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, performance ratios and call reports.

Analyze financial statements and provide insights on financial performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

Prepare executive-level financial presentations to facilitate informed decision-making by the leadership team and the board of directors.

Risk Management and Compliance:

Develop and implement policies and procedures to manage financial risk across the community banks.

Manage the ALCO and IRR management process and report to ALCO committee.

Identify and assess the financial risks associated with lending, investments, and other financial activities, and propose risk mitigation strategies.

Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards, keeping abreast of changes in regulations that may impact the community banks.

Work closely with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance.

Treasury and Cash Management:

Oversee treasury activities, including liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, and optimization of cash resources.

Develop and implement strategies to minimize the cost of capital and effectively manage the community banks' interest rate risk.

Monitor and manage the investment portfolio, ensuring compliance with investment policies and optimizing portfolio performance.

Leadership and Team Management:

Provide strong leadership and guidance to finance teams across the community banks.

Develop and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Establish clear goals and objectives for the finance team, conducting regular performance evaluations and providing constructive feedback.

Collaborate with other senior executives to align financial strategies with broader organizational goals.
