The Mission

We are seeking a talented Staff Accountant to join our growing Accounting & Finance team and contribute to our continued success. The right candidate is someone who.

Experienced accountant with a highly analytical mindset and strong attention to detail

Desire to improve reporting process and has experience implementing and operationalizing accounting systems and processes

Your Assignment

Oversee general ledger and assist month-end and year-end close processes for LATAM Entities

Review Supplier Payments for LATAM entity

Reconcile Payroll Reports for LATAM entity

Oversee Intercompany Reconciliation

Foreign Exchange Reconciliation

Monthly Balance Sheet Accounts Reconciliation for LATAM entity

Work closely with FP&A team and provide them with monthly variance analysis reports

Conduct regular reviews of financial transactions and reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Prepare, post and maintain proper records of Journal Entries

Assist in the development and documentation of business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Assist with the external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information to auditors. Support annual independent audit and regulatory audits as required

Review statutory tax returns as prepared by local bookkeeper

Research and interpret Brazilian tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and minimize tax liabilities

Perform other related duties as assigned by Controller

Your Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently

Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.

Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software

Strong knowledge of Brazilian employment-related laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting3-5 years of experience in General Accounting within small to medium size companiesGood understanding of US GAAP (Active or inactive CPA a plus, but not required)Previous B2B and startup experience preferred Experience with ERP systems is a plus, Certinia preferred

Strong financial analysis skills

Experience with Intercompany preferred

Understanding of Intercompany processes

Effective communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skillsExperience with Excel / Google Sheets analysis and presentation skills
