Supports licensed staff in facilitating therapy with children and families to assist with the management of psychiatric and behavioral health concerns. Provides skill building, psychoeducation, support, linkage, and referral interventions that promote resilience, independence, and attention to stabilization.

Responsibilities:

• Supports licensed provider in culturally appropriate assessment and other mental health screenings including providing follow up and support to youth and family.

• Facilitates appropriate brief crisis interventions, care coordination, safety planning, or other therapeutic interventions to assigned patients, at direction of licensed clinician.

• Collaborates to implement a treatment plan at direction of licensed clinician. Provides short-term case management support to assist with monitoring of symptoms, stressors, level of risk, safety planning, and de-escalation.

• Assists with identifying and building skills and accessing resources to assist with stabilizing the crisis and preventing future crises from occurring.

• Assists with care coordination and collaboration with current providers, utilizes a warm handoff to other providers and completes a transition plan.

• Completes required charting and clinical documentation in accordance with NCH and applicable program standards. Utilizes MAP work queue to coordinate case management needs.

• Maintains currency in required training and familiarity with the research and literature in areas of expertise.

Qualifications:

Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or professional school in relevant field.

Licensure Requirement: QBHS certification to be obtained upon hire.

Certifications: Upon hire, must complete and pass NCH endorsed Crisis Management Training

Skills:

• Demonstrated skills in providing behavioral health interventions and case management to children and adolescents and their families.

• Demonstrated ability to exercise a degree of independence, initiative, judgment, and decision-making to prioritize workload and achieve program objectives.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team member to ensure consistent quality of services that support a high level of patient and provider satisfaction.

• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills required to establish and maintain productive and collaborative team and multi-disciplinary relationships.

• Demonstrate sensitivity, empathy, objectivity, professionalism, effective engagement and customer service skills, and sound judgement in the course of all work duties.

Experience: One year of providing crisis-based mental health services with children and adolescents, preferred.
