Job Overview: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our urgent care team. As a Medical Assistant in our fast-paced urgent care setting, you will play a vital role in providing efficient and compassionate patient care. The ideal candidate should have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, be able to multitask effectively, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services.

Responsibilities:

Patient Intake and Triage:

Greet and assist patients upon arrival, ensuring a smooth check-in process.

Collect and record patient demographic information, medical history, and chief complaints.

Prioritize and triage patients based on the urgency of their medical needs.

Vital Signs and Patient Preparation:

Perform basic clinical tasks, including measuring and recording vital signs.

Assist with patient preparation for examinations, procedures, and diagnostic tests.

Ensure a clean and organized patient care environment.

Assistance to Healthcare Providers:

Aid healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries.

Prepare and maintain medical supplies and equipment.

Assist with wound care, suture removal, and other minor medical procedures.

Patient Education:

Provide clear and concise instructions to patients regarding prescribed medications, home care, and follow-up instructions.

Educate patients on preventive care measures and lifestyle modifications.

Administrative Duties:

Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits.

Manage and update electronic medical records with accuracy and completeness.

Handle phone inquiries, take messages, and relay information to healthcare providers.

Infection Control and Safety:

Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment.

Follow safety guidelines and protocols for handling hazardous materials.Qualifications:

Completion of a medical assistant training program or equivalent education.

Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Prior experience in urgent care, primary care, or a related healthcare setting is preferred.

Proficient in medical terminology and documentation.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-volume setting.Working Conditions:

Fast-paced urgent care environment with varying patient volumes.

Shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
