Role: Sr Storage Engineer
Location: Washington, DC
Minimum of 10 years' experience
The Senior Storage Engineer is responsible for all aspects of assists management in the operation of networks and/or security systems.
Must stay current with latest developments in network, security, and other LAN technology. Assists with hardware and software trouble shooting for the LAN/WAN. Assists with designing quality metric disciplines. Assists with the analyzing, evaluation, and testing of software/hardware problems and submits findings to management officials.
Responsibilities
Assisting management in the operation of networks and/or security systems
Staying current with latest developments in network, security, and other LAN technology
Assisting with hardware and software trouble shooting for the LAN/WAN
Assisting with designing quality metric disciplines
Assisting with the analyzing, evaluation, and testing of software/hardware problems
Assisting with troubleshooting intra-system telecommunications and/or security
Resolving hardware problems
Maintaining inventory of all data center equipment and supplies
Schedules or performs the repair and/or replacement of defective information technology equipment
Supporting data storage environments both on prem and in the cloud
Provide data engineering technical guidance, leadership, and knowledge
Provide data storage administration both on prem and in the cloud
Managing data storage related upgrades
Designing and building relational databases for data storage or processing
Developing strategies for warehouse implementation, data acquisition, and archive recovery
Cleaning and maintaining databases by removing and deleting old data
Evaluating new data sources for adherence to the organization's quality standards and ease of integration
Clearance:
Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Education:
Bachelors degree or prior, relevant experience in lieu of a degree
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years' experience
Experience with implementation and administration of data storage environments
Experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting, analyzing, and maintaining on prem and cloud data storage environments
Experience managing, configurating, and supporting data storage environments
Experience with AWS Storage
Experience performing data storage upgrades
Experience creating and presenting technical specifications and requirements
Experience with VMWare
Experience producing quality documentation
Experience working with Federal government clients

Cloud knowledge and experience
Cyber Security knowledge and experience
Microsoft 365 knowledge and experience a plus
SharePoint knowledge and experience a plus
